The test chart consists of a Siemens star with 36 sectors. The diameter of the Siemenss tar is 192.8mm, the unresolved core has a diameter of 2mm.

Vertical and horizontal grids are arranged at the edges of the test chart. The grids have a resolution of 0.625Lp/mm at the top right and down left egde and at the top left and down right of 1.25Lp/mm.

The test chart is arranged on reprographic photographic paper with ultra arduous gradation. The photographic paper is upholstered with a self-adhesive film, which is adequate for a per hand treatment. Alternatively the test chart is fixed on a card with 2mm gauge.

The test grid provides an appraisal of the illustration quality of optical systems like cameras, lenses, microfilm systems and amplification equipment.
